McKinley Health Center offers three neighborhoods with exceptional, professional nursing teams to meet your unique care needs:

  • Short Stay Rehab – for residents recovering from surgery or illness with the goal to return to their own home
  • Comprehensive Care – for residents who have long-term healthcare needs
  • Memory Support – for residents with memory loss

No matter what neighborhood you reside in, McKinley Health Center offers a unique care model, for the best success in managing your health issues, called transitional care planning. Chronically ill older adults are at high risk for falls, repeated hospital stays, ER visits, or nursing home admissions. The goal of transitional care planning is to ensure disease symptoms are effectively managed and the appropriate resources are utilized through transitions between levels of care, such as from McKinley Health Center back to home. Our staff will serve as your advocate, helping you navigate through the care system, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and that all members of the care team are in the loop and communicating effectively.

What does transitional care mean for you? You’ll feel better and your symptoms will be under control. Your care team will all be on the same page and medications will be the best combination to treat your individualized symptoms. Your risk of falls and hospital admissions will go down.

The Laurels is a small, private residential neighborhood for active retirees. Each home is unique, featuring one of five floor plans.

You pay an entrance fee to live at The Laurels, which is partially refundable upon move-out, along with a monthly fee. In exchange, you never have to worry about home maintenance or costly emergency repairs. Our maintenance staff is on call 24/7. If you like to travel or go south for the winter, you don’t have to worry about leaving your home and belongings unattended while you’re out of town. You never have to bundle up to go outside and shovel. All of these things are taken care of for you at The Laurels.

In addition, The Laurels is part of the Laurelbrooke Landing continuing care retirement community, which means you will have priority access to other levels of care should your healthcare or housing needs change. Lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, home maintenance, and repairs are taken care of for you at The Village, so you can spend time doing the things you enjoy during your retirement.

The Village is part of the Laurelbrooke Landing retirement community, which means you have easy access to other levels of care should your healthcare or housing needs change. It also means you can enjoy all of the campus amenities and services that Laurelbrooke Landing has to offer.

Residents at the Village love the convenient location of their home, just across from Brookville Hospital and 1 mile from the shopping and services of downtown Brookville. At the Village at Laurelbrooke Landing, healthy aging is promoted through educational programs; free wellness screenings; home care services like skilled nursing, housekeeping, and meal preparation; and annual wellness assessments by a nurse.

Rent at the Village includes all utilities, except for cable, telephone, and internet. 33 of the 1 and 2-bedroom townhomes in the Village neighborhood are for the elderly who meet these income eligibility guidelines. There are also 2 market-rate townhomes for moderate-income seniors.
