In nine months, Stacy Fiscus will have completed another landmark milestone in a journey that began 18 years ago. Fiscus started with nonprofit senior care provider WRC Senior Services in 2001 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Since then, she has been a dedicated, hardworking, and friendly face among the WRC community. Now operating as LPN Assessment Coordinator and Infection Control Nurse for McKinley Health Center, Stacy is currently pursuing an RN degree, and after one more class and two clinical rotations, she will achieve her goal.
While that news is fantastic on its own, Fiscus will also be receiving a $1,000 scholarship from senior services association LeadingAge PA. Each year, Leading Age PA awards scholarships to employees of its members that are currently pursuing further education or training. In total, it will award $27,000 in scholarships in 2019.
“I am sincerely honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Leading Age scholarship,” said Fiscus. “Thank you LeadingAge PA for its generosity, which has helped to lift the financial burden of schooling for myself and so many others.”
