As recommendation from the CDC(Center for Disease Control) & PA Department of Health, for those that reside in “communal living” who have been a patient in any hospital, it is recommended that tenant should self-quarantine for 14 days from any contact with other tenants or any areas of the building where tenants gather to include lounges, community centers, patio’s, etc. Because this virus has such a long incubation period up to 14 days, many do not know that they have been exposed. Upcoming Events
Chair Exercise Wednesday & Friday mornings at 10am Village II CC. An additional day has been added to accommodate the participation. It will be held inside the Community Center with six participants permitted only each day. Must practice
social distancing, chairs need to be 6’ apart & attendee’s must wear a mask. Please work out a schedule between who attends which day. Need to divide up between the two days with 6 tenants per day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Becky Park, 849-0814. Thank you
Outside Social on Saturday’s (weather permitting) at 1:30pm. Please note, this will depend on the October weather & will be week-to-week since it is held outside. Bring your chair, wear your mask & enjoy visiting with your friends &
neighbor’s while practicing social distancing.
Villages at Laurelbrooke
Bingo has been added to the October calendar. Something to look forward to as the fall weather sets in. We will give it a try & see what interest we have! We will practice 6’ social distance. This is only for Village at Laurelbrooke Landing tenants. No outsiders will be permitted.
Pumpkin decorating contest will be held during October. If interested, tenant would get a pumpkin for their porch, decorate it & display for all to enjoy during the month. Pumpkins will be judged on Tuesday, October 27th. The winner will receive the great pumpkin trophy & a gift certificate. Donuts & cider will be available at 2pm at Village III Community Center.
Pork/Sauerkraut to-go lunch will be available on Thursday, October 15th at noon at Village II Community Center. Lunch will be prepared by Cura Hospitality/McKinley Health Center. Meal will include: pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, vegetable & pumpkin roll. Cost is $ 7.25 per meal. Sign up is required by October 8th. Please call Becky at 849-0814 to reserve your meal. Money is due on October 15th when you pick up your meal.
Flu shots will be available again this year thru Home Solutions. They will be available sometime in the October/November time frame. Watch the bulletin board in the Community Center for more details as they become available.
Books, Books & Books
If you like to read, Village III Community Center has a nice assortment of books. Please enjoy reading the books & return when finished for others to enjoy. Thank you to those that are contributing to the nice assortment of books to share. These books are available to ANY tenant at the Village to enjoy. Village III Community Center is typically locked, so bring your key to open the door. Be sure to lock the door when leaving.
