McKinley Health Center has new Director of Nursing

kelly-fye-edit(Brookville, PA) – McKinley Health Center, WRC Senior Services’ skilled nursing and rehab community located on the Laurelbrooke Landing campus in Brookville, recently promoted Clarion resident Kelly Fye to become the community’s new Director of Nursing.

Fye is a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Clarion University.

She has been with McKinley Health Center for the past two and a half years, serving as Assistant Director of Nursing since October 2015. She was originally hired as the Discharge Educator/RN Supervisor.

“We are excited to have Kelly step into this role,” said McKinley Health Center Director Alison Mills Monrean. “She did a wonderful job for us as the Assistant Director of Nursing, and I’m confident that she will excel in her new role and help us raise the bar on the already excellent quality care we provide at McKinley Health Center.”

As Director of Nursing, Fye oversees the entire nursing department and staff.  She ensures that residents are receiving the medical care they need and coordinates their care with physicians and other departments within the community. She also plays a role in the resident admission process.

“From a young age, my greatest goal has been to make a difference in the lives of others. I have especially had a passion for our elderly population, and strive to provide them with best quality of life,” said Fye. “I am very excited to be able to do so on a daily basis and continue to make McKinley Health Center the best place to live for those we serve.”

Fye continually strives to improve resident’s quality of care and is heavily involved in WRC’s transitional care program.

”Since I have come to McKinley Health Center, I have played a key role in improving our transitional care process through discharges, and we are actually experiencing our lowest hospital re-admission rates that we have seen in quite a while,” Fye said.

To introduce the Brookville community to Fye, there is a Meet and Greet scheduled from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 at Laurelbrooke Landing. The public is invited to stop by and enjoy refreshments.
