Frances Roebuck Kuhns, CASPF

Frances Roebuck Kuhns is responsible for the management and leadership of WRC Senior Services. She began her career as a registered nurse, and then taught diploma and collegiate nursing students for ten years. She then entered the field of long-term care. In 1989, Fran worked in the acute care environment as an executive in two hospitals, before returning to long-term care in 1995 to assume her current position at WRC.
Fran earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Carlow College and a master’s degree in family health/administration from Duquesne University. She has taken post-graduate courses in management and geriatrics, and is a certified Fellow in the Coalition of Aging Services Professionals.
Actively involved in the business community, Fran serves on boards of various hospitals and home health organizations. She also teaches part time at Penn State University’s DuBois campus in its nurse management program. From 1998-2009, Kuhns served on the board of directors of PANPHA, a statewide association representing more than 370 not-for-profit long-term care providers in Pennsylvania. In 2010, Kuhns received the Paul P. Haas Lifetime Achievement Award from PANPHA for her work to advance the field of aging services. She is currently serving on the board for the Pennsylvania Home Care Association.
