20th Annual WRC Golf Outing a Success!

(Brookville, PA) – WRC Senior Services’ 20th annual Charity Golf Open, recently held at Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville, netted $23,664 to benefit older adults in financial need.

The funds raised go toward WRC Senior Services’ charitable care program. Charitable care describes the care provided to individuals who have exhausted their financial resources and cannot afford the full cost of their care.

Last year WRC Senior Services provided over $527,000 in charitable care at its communities Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville, Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem Highland Oaks in Shippenville and Ridgmont in Ridgway.

28 teams played in the four person scramble.

low grossThe Low Gross winner was the team of Greg Fallara, Ted Depp, Jr, Bill Jordan and Jim Hall.

low netThe Low Net Winner was Arnett, Carbis, Toothman’s team of Ed Klik, Rick Snyder, Charles Laverty and Ronald Litrenta.

There was a three-way tie for Second Place Low Net winner between John Kuhns’ team of Kuhns, Terry Gray, Albert Pisarchik and Mark Becker; Mary Kay Slimak’s team of Slimak, Amy Kessler, Cindy Rolls and Linda Gray; and Open Flow Energy’s team of Bill Deter, Rob Giles, Bob Deter and Brian Churlik.

Skill prizes were also given out. Bill Reitz won Longest Putt on Hole #2.

Mark Riesmeyer got Closest to the Pin on Hole #3.

Carol Hawthorne won Closest to the Line on Hole #7, and Mike Stokes got Closest to the Pin on Hole #12.

Poole Anderson Construction was the Title Sponsor of this year’s event, making it possible for a Golfer and Wine Lovers Paradise Vacation for Two to Bodega Bay, Napa Valley and San Francisco, California to be given away.

There were also 25 hole sponsors and 15 cart sponsors for the event.

tomThis year professional long driver and golf entertainer Tom Roskos returned to the event on Hole #17, sponsored by Luton’s Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. Roskos is a former PGA player and top-ranked Men’s Long Drive Champion.

Roskos demonstrated his ES14 Golf Launch Monitor which measures ball speed, club speed, spin factor, distance and launch angle. He also offered tips and hit each team’s drive for them.
